It may be February but good music is timeless and the Dub Techno Blog’s “Best Of 2016” is an exceptional summary of the years dub and ambient infused electronic music.
Weighing in at over four hours and split over two parts, this is no auditory junk food, quick release.
Deep, subby kicks, spatial pads and delayed stabs are present as expected, but this is not music suffocated by its own genre parameters. There’s warmth, groove and most importantly, real craft behind what is being presented here.
The blog and weekly radio show is single handedly run by dub techno fanatic, Paul, who also heads up the Drift Deeper net label.
From just five minutes of listening to the show or clicking through the website, it’s obvious to see that this is a real labour of love undertaken by someone who is truly passionate about what they do.
And dedication to such a commendable cause always deserves attention.
